Frequently Asked Questions
Is forGood really free?
Yes. The plugin itself costs nothing and there is no ongoing subscription fee.
The only charges you pay are standard payment processing fees directly to Stripe (currently 1.5% + 20p per transaction) or GoCardless.
Nebula charges for installation and configuration, but once that is done, the platform runs at no cost to you indefinitely.
What is the difference between forGood and JustGiving?
JustGiving is a fundraising platform that your donors visit to give. ForGood is a plugin that runs on your own WordPress website, so donors never leave your site.
JustGiving charges charities 5% of everything raised through charity pages. ForGood charges nothing. The trade-off is that JustGiving has a large existing user base and peer-to-peer fundraising features that ForGood does not replicate (yet)
We already use a donation platform. Is it worth switching?
Possibly. If you are paying a monthly subscription or a percentage of donations, the sums often favour switching within a year. Book a demo and we can give you an honest comparison based on your current volumes and costs.
Does ForGood work with our CRM?
forGood currently integrates directly with Beacon, Donorfy and Raisely. If you use a different system, ForGood’s headless mode and CSV exports mean you can still get data out cleanly. Zapier integration is coming shortly, which will extend compatibility significantly.
Is our donors’ data secure?
Yes. forGood stores data on your own WordPress installation, which means you are the data controller. We hold no donor data on Nebula’s servers. Payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe or GoCardless – card details never pass through your website or ForGood at all. Nebula holds Cyber Essentials Plus accreditation and can advise on wider GDPR compliance for your charity.
Additionally, you can opt to anonomise donor data or sent data straight to your existing CRM system without anything touching the website.
