Bank of Scotland Foundation – Energise

Energise gives small Scottish charities two years of unrestricted funding. Because it’s unrestricted, you can put it towards a new website or digital systems alongside your other running costs.

The window is short: noon on 28 September to noon on 7 October.

• What they fund: Unrestricted funding, in the Foundation’s own words “towards core costs, delivery costs, project costs and/or general running costs”, used in the way that helps the charity best. You don’t have to package a website as a project to get it paid for.
• Typical grants: Two tiers, both paid over two years. £20,000 (£10,000 a year) if your income is under £50,000, or £40,000 (£20,000 a year) if your income is between £50,000 and £150,000.
• Who can apply: Charities registered in Scotland with a charity number beginning SC0, operating in and benefiting people in Scotland, with an income of £150,000 or less and at least one year of accounts lodged with OSCR. Vulnerable people need to be at the heart of what you do.
• The angle: Two years of unrestricted money at this size is rare, so write about the organisation rather than a shopping list. Show who you reach, why they’re vulnerable, and what steadier funding would let you stop worrying about. If a website or better digital systems are part of that, say so plainly.
• Worth knowing: Applications go through a new system this round, so register and read the form before the day you plan to submit. The window is nine days and closes at noon, not midnight. Outcomes are expected mid December 2026.
