What we do

A custom WordPress build from us is a bespoke block theme – designed, coded and deployed for your organisation. Not a template. Not a page builder. Not a patched-together plugin stack. Just the web, done well.

01

The theme

Every project launches with a custom block theme that’s yours to keep. The editor uses the native WordPress block editor (no Elementor, no Divi, no WPBakery), extended with bespoke blocks for the content patterns your team writes most.

02

The editor experience

We design for the people typing. Every block has sensible defaults, clear field labels, and previews that look like the front end. Your fundraising team can draft an appeal page in half an hour without raising a ticket.

03

The foundations

Every site ships with accessibility in mind. Core Web Vitals in the green, a redirect map that protects your SEO, Gift Aid and PCI-DSS-compliant donation flows where needed, and documentation that matches what the site actually does.

04

The relationship

Launch day is the start, not the end. Every build rolls into a support plan – monthly retainer, block-hour plan, or on-demand – with the same people who wrote the code answering the emails.

You’re our kind of client if

Let’s have a chat

  • You’re a UK charity or mission-led organisation – our entire practice is built around you.
  • You want a site your own team can run, not one that needs us every time a page changes.
  • Accessibility, Core Web Vitals aren’t ‘nice-to-haves’ for you.
  • You want to talk to a human
  • You’re interested in having a website that returns on investment.
we’re not the right fit if

Let’s save you some time

  • You want a generic page builder site you can restyle in an afternoon – we don’t ship Elementor or Divi.
  • You need it launched in two weeks for less than a mid-range laptop.
  • You’re looking for a big London agency with multiple account managers.
  • You want the cheapest quote on the table.
  • You’d rather own the brief 100% rather than collaborate.
What our clients say

The praise we’ve kept, from the people we’ve built for.

I couldn’t recommend the team at Nebula Design more. From my first interaction the team they were helpful, knowledgeable and nothing (and I mean nothing), was too much trouble. They were quick to respond to emails, send useful support documentation and check our work. 5 stars doesn’t seem enough for how overjoyed we are. Thank you!

The knowledge and time the team and Nebula put in to each project and call with me is brilliant! Always work promptly to get our projects up and running and talk me (a very non techy person) through everything. Really appreciate their support. Would definitely recommend.

Common questions about builds

The questions we hear most – answered honestly.

No. We build every site as a custom block theme using the native WordPress editor (plus Advanced Custom Fields where it helps). Page-builder sites are slow, hard to make accessible, and lock you in.

Eight to sixteen weeks for a standard charity site: roughly two weeks discovery, four to five weeks design, six to ten weeks build and launch.

Yes – and we’ve done it many times. We’ll map every URL for SEO, migrate your content cleanly, and keep your old analytics working.

You do. Every build is shipped as a GPL-licensed custom theme in your own Git repository, with full documentation.

Yes. Accessibility is baked in from the first component, not bolted on before launch. Every site ships with a full WCAG 2.2 AA audit.

No. If you’ve taken one of our ongoing monthly retainers or block-hour plans – the same developer who wrote the code is usually the one at the end of the phone/email.
