National Lottery Awards for All England funds projects, not objects, but the definition of “project” is wide enough that a website delivering a service or reaching more people sits comfortably inside a bid.

  • What they fund: Grants of £300 to £20,000 for projects lasting up to two years, for new or existing activity or to help an organisation adapt to new challenges. Flexible enough to include a website as part of how a funded activity is delivered. The National Lottery Community Fund
  • Who can apply: Not-for-profit groups, with no need to be a registered charity, including community groups, CIOs, CICs and schools where the wider community benefits. You need a bank account requiring at least two people to sign, and groups with smaller incomes are prioritised. Resource CentreFunding for All
  • The angle: Lead with reach or service delivery and let the website be the means, never “we need a new website”. Decisions take around 16 weeks, and you can only hold one Awards for All grant at a time, so time the application around that. UnknownFunding for All
