A website that earns trust, takes donations, and you can run yourselves.
A charity website from us is a custom WordPress site your own team can run. Designed, coded and deployed for your organisation. Not a template. Not a page builder. Not a donation button bolted onto a brochure. Just the web, done well, for charities.
Built for trust
Donors, funders and the people you support decide whether to take you seriously in the first few seconds. We design for that. Clear, credible, and quick on every device.
Donations that stay on your site
We set up donation journeys that keep supporters on your own website instead of sending them to a third party and losing them on the way, using our own donation plugin, forGood, built specifically for UK charities.
Accessible by default
Every site ships to WCAG 2.2 AA, built in from the first component rather than bolted on before launch. Your audience is more likely than most to need it, and the Equality Act expects it.
Yours to run, ours to support
We design for the people typing. Your team can draft an appeal page or post an update without raising a ticket. Launch day is the start, not the end: every build rolls into a support plan with the same people who wrote the code.
Let’s have a chat
- You’re a UK charity or mission-led organisation. Our entire practice is built around you.
- You want a site your own team can run, not one that needs us every time a page changes.
- Accessibility matters to you, and not only because a funder asked.
- You want a website that earns its keep, in donations, sign-ups and trust.
- You’d rather talk to a human than read a sales deck.
Let’s save you some time
- You want the cheapest quote on the table.
- You need it live in two weeks for less than a mid-range laptop.
- You want a generic page-builder site you can restyle in an afternoon. We don’t ship Elementor or Divi.
- You’re looking for a big London agency with three account managers.
- You want a donation button slapped on and nothing else.
Our service in numbers
On average we aim for 90 to 98 PageSpeed on the sites we build. If we host it, your site sits on our 100% green, client-only server.

The praise we’ve kept, from the charities we’ve built for.
I couldn’t recommend the team at Nebula Design more. From my first interaction the team they were helpful, knowledgeable and nothing (and I mean nothing), was too much trouble. They were quick to respond to emails, send useful support documentation and check our work. 5 stars doesn’t seem enough for how overjoyed we are. Thank you!
The knowledge and time the team and Nebula put in to each project and call with me is brilliant! Always work promptly to get our projects up and running and talk me (a very non techy person) through everything. Really appreciate their support. Would definitely recommend.
Five stages. No mystery. Same team throughout.
Discover
Workshops with the people who’ll actually use the site: trustees, fundraisers and service teams.
Design
Accessibility-first and content-first. Components designed specifically for you.
Build
Custom block theme development in an environment you can watch, with weekly check-ins.
Launch
Content migration, QA sweep, redirect map to protect your rankings, an engineer on standby.
Support
Monthly retainer or block-hour plans. Real humans, the ones who built it.
Three builds. Different shapes, same mission.
The questions we hear most – answered honestly.
If your question isn’t here, email [email protected] or book a 30 minute discovery call. No sales deck, promise.
How much does a charity website cost?
It depends on the size of the site, the features you need and how much content has to be written or moved across. We give every charity a clear, fixed quote up front, with rough numbers on a discovery call. If budget is the obstacle, our Funding Finder lists grants that can be put towards website and digital costs.
Do you only work with charities in Bristol and the South West?
No. We’re based near Bristol and work with plenty of charities across the South West, but we work remotely with organisations all over the UK, including across South Wales.
Can we update the website ourselves?
Yes. We build on WordPress using the native block editor and set things up so your team can edit pages, post news and update content without needing a developer. We’ll train you, and we’re here if you get stuck.
Will it meet WCAG 2.2 AA?
Yes. Accessibility is baked in from the first component, not bolted on before launch. Every site ships with a full WCAG 2.2 AA audit.
Can you take online donations?
Yes. We set up donation journeys that keep supporters on your own website rather than sending them elsewhere, using our forGood donation plugin, built for UK charities, with Gift Aid where it’s needed.
Can you redesign or migrate our existing site?
Yes, and we’ve done it many times. We’ll map every URL for SEO, migrate your content cleanly, and keep your old analytics working.
Who owns the website once we’re done?
You do. Every build ships as a GPL-licensed custom theme in your own repository, with documentation that matches what the site actually does.
How long does a charity website take to build?
Usually eight to sixteen weeks: roughly two weeks discovery, four to five weeks design, and six to ten weeks build and launch.
